Unleash The Beast

Its’ not uncommon that they I get calls and briefs from former colleagues and clients and I have been delighted to photograph many of their business over the past few years. In my previous life in the world of advertising and marketing I worked with so many great people, business and clients and its great that I can still be part of that world.

One such call came from a former colleague and good friend who is now running the Sydney office of Noisy Beast. Their brief was an interesting one, they needed images of their team members for use like many in - Microsoft Teams, Slack, Zoom Calls, Intrawebs and linkedIn. Interestingly they wanted these in black and white. They needed some shots that showed off each of their team’s personalities as well as more traditional headshots and workplace photography for their North Sydney office..

To be honest, having someone tell you to show your personality, or to show how fun you are is a waking nightmare. And I concur, I particularly felt for the poor person who had only been at the company for a week! That said we, got some great results that they were delighted with. Most people are concerned about having to smile for a photo, we’ve written whole blog about that here.

I spent a quarter of a century working in the world of advertising and marketing. It was a great career that has set me up perfectly for my life as a Corporate Photographer. Here are some of the ways;

  • I understand brands in particular a need for a consistent and distinctive voice. This is particularly true when it comes to the imagery of that brand.

  • I understand marketers and the language they use. This has proved useful on so many occasions when receiving briefs from clients. It also means that I often know the right questions to ask.

  • Further to that I know how to communicate with people at all levels of an organisation from front desk to CEO. Being able to determine and manage the expectations of everybody that you work with is vital for a corporate photographer

  • Every job I do is a response to a particular brief, I know how to deliver images that will specifically answer that brief and appeal to the desired audience. Its never about me and my ego as a photographer, its always about the client and the brief.

Do get in touch with Noisy Beast if you are in need of an advertising or media agency. And do get in touch with us if you need to take your brand to the next level with great consistent imagery.
