Adding A Touch of Colour to your Headshots
At Corporate Imagery our style that we have developed over the years has been to shoot against a palin white or grey backdrop. There are good reasons for doing this;
It works very well on LinkedIn as a background for profile photos
It allows attention to be drawn directly to the subject and not to be distracting.
It is easily replicable should new employees come into an organisation and need matching images to the rest of the colleagues.
We have had an upgrade to our Ryde studio facilities recently however and can now offer a broader range of colours as backgrounds. Your choice of colour will depend largely on factors such as the use of the images, the look and feel you are going for as well as your skin tone and the clothes you are wearing.
As well as shooting against different coloured backgrounds in the studio we are also able to change the colours to anything that you like in the post processing and editing phase. This is especially good for getting those subtle shades of grey that have just a hint of colour in them.
Would love your feedback and thoughts on this, leave a note in the comments if there are any background colours that you would like to see.
